Located just 40 miles northwest of Nashville, Clarksville-Montgomery County is the fifth-largest city and the third-fastest growing county in Tennessee.
We are the sole 911 provider for Clarksville-Montgomery County, providing 24-hour emergency and non-emergency medical transportation, rope rescue, dive rescue/recovery, trench rescue, tactical medics and many other specialized rescue operations.
Departmental Overview and Projections: Our department holds an “A” rating by the State of Tennessee Department of Health, Division of Emergency Medical Services. In order to achieve this rating the State of Tennessee requires the service to provide capabilities for advanced life support or special critical care on ninety-five percent (95%) of emergency runs within their service area, providing this service twenty-four (24) hours a day. We exceed this requirement by staffing every unit with a Paramedic.
In 2008, Montgomery County EMS operated on a budget of approximately $6,000,000.00, responded to 24,610 calls (an average of 67 calls per day), having ten (10) stations strategically located throughout the county that’s an average of 2,461 calls per station a year. Total collections for 2008 were $4,447,743.24; costing the citizens of Montgomery County only $1,552,256.76 which comes out to approximately $9.70 per capita to provide excellent emergency medical care.
Our department (to date) staffs sixty-two (62) Paramedics, three (3) Critical Care Paramedics, four (4) Registered Nurses and thirty-six (36) Emergency Medical Technicians.
Our department is lead by the Chief and Deputy Chief these individuals are responsible for the planning, organizing and directing of all activities of the department to provide the best pre-hospital medical care available for Montgomery County and the City of Clarksville.
